Engagement

Dr. Just is the faculty liaison to the new University of Iowa, Sustainability Living-Learning Community, is chair of the UI Sustainability Curriculum Advisory Committee and he has served on the UI Faculty Engagement Tour planning committee. Dr. Just also serves on the Provost's Advisory Committee on Publicly Engaged Arts, Research and Scholarship.

Dr. Just is Faculty Advisor for the UI Student Chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World and he serves on the Engineers for a Sustainable World National Board. He is Faculty Advisor for the UI Student Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA. Dr. Just was awarded the David J. Skorton Award for Staff Excellence in Public Service in 2010 and he also received the International Studies Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award in 2011.

Dr. Just is the Director of the Community Engagement Core for the Iowa Superfund Basic Research Center. The Community Engagement Core facilitates partnerships and communications with project stakeholders in East Chicago, Indiana, Columbus Junction, Iowa, within the Army Corps of Engineers, with the East Chicago Waterways Management District and many other entities.
